How I learned to love the Opera
Well… not the actual theater type of opera, but the web browser. I used to read information about Opera and think, “who uses opera?” and I would make light of the browser. That is, until I actually downloaded it and tried it out. I got turned on to the browser primarily through Opera mini, which is a version of the browser for mobile phones that is leaps and bounds better than the default sprint browser that came with my Sanyo Katana phone. Opera mini is a full fledged browser for your mobile phone that lets you view the real internet not a dumbed down mobile version of it. It loads up pages remarkably quickly as well. I was highly impressed when I loaded it onto my phone. Opera mini will show you a zoomed out view of the page and you move the cursor around the page and when you click it will zoom in so you can see the portion of the page that you want. I liked Opera Mini so much that I downloaded the desktop version of it and I like it too. It is very fast and uses less memory than fire fox. I still use both browsers, but I just wanted to get some good information out about opera because one doesn’t hear too much about it.
**Update**
Here is a screen shot of my memory usage running the browsers. They are both at www.google.com and all my firefox addons are disabled.

Opera is very cool, I don’t like firefox for various reasons such as memory but Opera is great. Also Opera is used on my trusty wii to surf the web!

Firefox 3 uses less memory than Opera for me. Here’s a side by side comparison of the latest browsers:
