Amazed

The hype about the Dark Knight is true it really is that good. The movie is nearly 3 hours long, but it doesn’t feel like it. Not a moment of the movie is wasted and every scene advances the plot. The Dark Knight’s Joker is the most diabolical villain I have ever encountered both in the cinema and literary worlds. Whoever thought up some of his plans frightens me and so does Heath Ledger in several parts of the film. It is the must see movie of the summer.

The Dark Knight!

Batman.jpg I’m so excited for the Dark Knight I’m going to watch it right after work. I really wanted to see it in Imax first, but even as of two weeks ago the Universal City walk Imax theater was sold out for all showings this weekend so I am just going to see it non Imax first then catch the Imax version later. In honor of Batman I’ve been reading some funny blog postings and compiled my favorite here. (more…)

A new Dark Knight trailer!

I’m so excited about this movie I can barely contain myself. I was reading an invterview of the director Christopher Nolan and that made me even more excited about the movie and then today I read about this http://themovingpicture.net/new-international-dark-knight-trailer. It is just unfortunate that Heath Ledger’s demise will be associated with the movie since it was the last film he worked on, but I hope it will be a great tribute to him.

What the British Skynet!?!

Whenever an advanced piece of AI is in the news you will always see someone mention the well known antagonist Skynet from the Terminator franchise. Well, the British actually have a system of satellites called Skynet. I’m actually kind of surprised that named it that because I figured it would be trademarked or something else involving imaginary property. Here is what the BBC News site said, “Skynet will support reconnaissance video gathered by unmanned drones.” you can’t get much closer to what the Skynet from Terminator does. (VIA BBC NEWS)

Hot-wiring cars in the movies is easy!

Why is it in movies that when the characters hot-wire a car the wires they grab always have the perfect amount of insulation already stripped from the wiring. Must be nice to be a car thief in the movies. (more…)
