The hype about the Dark Knight is true it really is that good. The movie is nearly 3 hours long, but it doesn’t feel like it. Not a moment of the movie is wasted and every scene advances the plot. The Dark Knight’s Joker is the most diabolical villain I have ever encountered both in the cinema and literary worlds. Whoever thought up some of his plans frightens me and so does Heath Ledger in several parts of the film. It is the must see movie of the summer.
I’m so excited for the Dark Knight I’m going to watch it right after work. I really wanted to see it in Imax first, but even as of two weeks ago the Universal City walk Imax theater was sold out for all showings this weekend so I am just going to see it non Imax first then catch the Imax version later. In honor of Batman I’ve been reading some funny blog postings and compiled my favorite here. The first one is the ten worst villains from http://www.filmschoolrejects.com. My favorite worst villain would have to be #6 crazy quilt. I couldn’t imagine pitching the crazy quilt costume to an office room full of comic book writers. I imagine it would be as bad as Sony’s E3 where they announced the PS3, “Riiiidddggee Raaaccer!”

The next is the ten most ridiculous weapons in batman’s arsenal from Topless Robot. The really funny thing is that I remember Batman using that shark repellant while the extremely rubbery looking shark was chopming on his leg. I thought it was funny when I was a kid and I still think it is funny today.

Whenever an advanced piece of AI is in the news you will always see someone mention the well known antagonist Skynet from the Terminator franchise. Well, the British actually have a system of satellites called Skynet. I’m actually kind of surprised that named it that because I figured it would be trademarked or something else involving imaginary property. Here is what the BBC News site said, “Skynet will support reconnaissance video gathered by unmanned drones.” you can’t get much closer to what the Skynet from Terminator does. (VIA BBC NEWS)

Why is it in movies that when the characters hot-wire a car the wires they grab always have the perfect amount of insulation already stripped from the wiring. Must be nice to be a car thief in the movies.

I also did a little research and if you look here http://www.ehow.com/how_2044915_hotwire-car.html one of the required tools are, surprise surprise, wire strippers.

Another thing I noticed when watching Transformers is that the city they fight at in the end is supposed to be mission city Nevada (since they were just at the Hoover damn), but during one of the fight scenes you can clearly see a street sign that Shia Labeouf is under and it says Wilshire. So, I guess they are fighting in the city of universal-studios-backlot-mission-city-los-angeles.

I really liked Transformers when I saw it, but every time I watch it after the first time I find something else wrong with the movie.
